A CHI-SQUARED GOODNESS-OF-FIT TEST FOR MODIFIED POWER SERIES DISTRIBUTIONS

SUMMARY. Gupta (1974) have introduced a family of modified power series distributions (MPSD). This family contains the Binomial, Poisson, Negative Binomial, Logarithmic series, Generalized Poisson, Generalized Binomial, Borel-Tanner, Stirling and many probability distributions, including left, right and doubly truncated modification. In this paper we consider a chi-square test whether a random sample has come from a MPSD.
