SOME EFFICIENT GROUP TESTING PROCEDURES FOR BINOMIAL MODEL

SUMMARY.  Two binomial group testing procedures $R$ and $R^{\prime}$ are proposed. They are compared to Dorfman procedure, Sterrett procedure and Sobel-Groll procedure $R_{1}$ for the efficiency. The efficiencies of $R$ and $R^{\prime}$ are better than those of Dorfman procedure and Sterrett procedure and close to that of $R_{1}$ when the binomial parameter  $p$ is small . $R$ and $R^{\prime}$  own practical advantages  as Dorfman procedure. For example, the procedures are easy to carry out, the determination of group sizes does not depend on the total number of test units, simultaneous testing of independent group by different experimenter is possible. These advantages are not present in more efficient procedure $R_{1}$.
