NONPARAMETRIC BAYESIAN ESTIMATION OF SURVIVAL FUNCTION : ANALYSIS OF DATA ON 289 PATIENTS OF OLD MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

SUMMARY. A Bayesian estimator of survival function under the competing risks case which assumes that the ages at death $ T_{1},...,T_{r} $ may not be independent random variables is obtained. The estimator is shown to be a Bayesian extension of the usual Kaplan-Meier estimator by an example which studies the survival function of 289 patients of old myocardial infarction..
